Never had a wish for blind spot monitoring. The car does have some large blind spots, but I'd rather turn my head. Same for surround view - nice in a parking lot, but the mirrors are more than enough.
I think no matter what you get, you'll get used to it - at least from this perspective. So be sure you're happy with the other aspects of the car. For instance - there a lot in willing to pass up for the driving experience of this car.
