Plus, it is mentioned in the (admittedly still speculative) article I posted a link to above that the X1 will be the first BMW to receive this engine, later this year. This coincides nicely with the expected new US release date this fall. I suspect that both the 25i and 28i that SCOTT mentions above will be powered by 4 cylinder turbo charged engines - in two different outputs, of course.

Agree, and note that the photos of the xDrive 28i have the twin-tip, left-side-only exhaust that seems to match all the photos that have been posted for US sightings.
