I tend to keep my cars for a very long time, so the depreciation doesn't really matter that much. But the repair costs might go up - if it will be harder to get parts because the series is dropped, and everything has to come from Germany (where they by law have to stock parts for a long time), it will be expensive.

As for why there are so many used M-Sport cars in the lots, I ascribe to many of my fellow Americans, who can't fit between the wings of the sports seats even adjusted to the widest, and thinks the steering and suspension is too hard. Well, yes, a hard suspension goes with the "M-Sport". I wouldn't want it any other way. On the twisty hilly frost heaved roads here, I can easily do twice the speed of most other cars. If high speed highway cruising is what you want, get the X-line.
