I've ditched the whole spare/run flat idea all together. If I get a flat with my regular tires, I can at least have it towed to any place that sells tires and have them put a plug in it. As others have stated, either the spare or the run flats only offer limited speed and distance, and you don't want to be that guy on the Alberta highways doing 80. I'd throw a jug of piss at you if I saw you doing that.
