Snooping around in foruns and the Net, I came around the Hartge bypass module. At the time, Turner was selling it for the F30 (new n20 engine 3 series), and I figured, if the engine is the exact same, it should fit the E84 as well. I contacted Hartge to confirm, they asked for my car's VIN and the response was that it would fit without any issues. The module I am saying is this: http://www.hartge.de/e/bmw_motor_6079.html

Well, I bought it at Turner (through Internet), received the module in Brazil and had a specialized shop installed for me. I also installed a set of sport H&R lowered springs, and the car looked amazing.

The torque gain is amazing. In second gear, feels like it will burn the tires. Responsiveness improved as well. The module was expensive (US$1250), but I felt like it worth it. Here, in Brazil, no one has an alternative, and even if it had, I felt more comfortable choosing a well known tuning company, such as Hartge is.

My car has now 7K Km, and it went last week to the dealer's regular oil service. Car stayed the whole day there, and they didn't detect the module. No problems with the car's warranty, then.

I see now that Turner has a cheaper alternative (http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-25...20-engine.aspx), but honestly, I don't know this manufacturer (aFe Scorcher), and I would not risk using this one in my new e84. Seems they are not Bimmers specialists. Hartge, on the other hand, is.

Hope this helps!
