The X1 is a bit of an unknown on the resale value, but EVO's hold their value extremely well. With it's possible demise, it should likely do even better.

If you're looking for a raw, relatively unpolished trackable work horse, the Evo is your car. If you want a little more utility and a mild amount of polish, the X1 is likely a better choice. The Evo will run circles around the X1 on a track, comes with a more advanced awd setup, better tires, brakes and aftermarket support too.

This is a little like cross shopping a GT3 and a Cayenne Turbo. The can both do roughly the same thing, but they go about it in a wildly different manner.
