I wouldn't think Hamilton will leave a hot Mercedes seat especially given their dominance this season.

Mercedes had pulled such an advantage throughout the season (with 4 races left, and they still dominate). Pretty much a second advantage compare to everyone else, from the first race in Australia till last week in Suzuka.

Mercedes can even keep develop this chassis for next season, and probably still has 0.5 sec advantage among the grid. I personally do not see why Hamilton will leave the well known team. And depart to a huge unknown McLaren.

McLaren will have Honda power unit next season, how good it is, its a huge unknown. It might be as good as Mercedes. But even with that, McLaren had produced poor chassis since 2009, every year they almost headed to a wrong development direction. Given that, a poor chassis will still be an huge disadvantage to McLaren unless they really hit the spot next season.

With that said, both Ferrari and RBR had disadvantages on power units this season. Thus makes Alonso and Vettel going to McLaren more believable. Since its a more worthwhile gamble to them.
