I have an X1 on order with nav. My wife has a '12 X3 with nav as well. Yes, its expensive but its far superior to a cheap portable nav. Superior graphics, hi fi sound, split screen with intersection or interchange details, and integrated points of interest and traffic. I really like BMW's nav and would always choose it. Plus with a portable unit you always have to take it down and stow it when parking. Otherwise you are inviting break ins.
