The countryman is a much smaller vehicle than the X1. I think it remains to be seen whether the upcoming X1 will be better than the current. I for sure would rather have an E90 3 series than the current model. I don't think BMW cares as long as the sales are what they expect. I am most concerned about the electric steering more than the FWD or handling. There is something so special with the pleasure and feel of hydraulic steering that simply cannot be emulated.
