Good call on removing everything. I had another go at it taking everything off (instead of only the lower plastic trim) and it plopped right into place.
Getting the washers on while holding the hitch away from the crush bar was a bit of a trick but its all in.
Fun fact: I found out hidden hitch is now the same/rebranded company Draw Tite. So hidden hitch branded hitches are "old stock"
