Recently I did a roundtrip from Bay Area to LA. I got 29.5 mpg going south (tailwind) and about 27.0 mpg going north (headwind). I got some traffic going south. I travelled at 75-80 mph and average speed going down was about 65 mph and going north about 70 mph. A/C was on both ways.
I think driving at 65-70 mph probably 30+ highway mpg is easily attainable.
My overall average for 6k miles is 25 mpg (45/55 city/highway).
