Keep in mind not all window tints block out heat the same. We opted for the more expensive 3M cera-something films (forget the name) and they do a wonderful job where the car stays cool in the sun. Others we checked out didn't block out heat at all, so that might be something to look into.
The windshield sun shade with a reflective side is also very important. Both make a night and day difference.
