Tonight, BMW dropped a bit of a bombshell, very discreetly and buried within a press release about a new edition to the BMW X1 family. BMW has as of now officially launched the
new BMW X1 xDrive28i.
The xDrive28i is the familiar X1 we already know and love but now has under its hood a brand new
2.0L gas powered
4-Cylinder engine which uses BMWs
TwinPower turbo technology, good for
245HP and
350Nm of torque. This all adds up to a 0-60 time of 6.1seconds. Thats damn good for a turbo 4 cylinder geared towards efficiency.
You can read all about this bombshell of a new engine in our separate post here.
The new turbo 4-cylinder engine will come mated to a standard
6-speed manual transmission or an
8-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual cars will also have included
start-stop technology further adding to the fuel efficient intentions of this car.
The car is officially rated at a staggering
35.7 MPG, which is a 5.7MPG improvement from past models. Co2 emissions are rated at 183 g/km.
