In the UK I would say that the Q5 and XC60 are rather competitors of the X3, in price and size. The X1 competes with the VW Tiguan, Nissan Qashqai, Honda CRV and Toyota RAV. |

In the US, the new X3 will be priced way above the Q5 & XC60 (since it already is now) and with it's growing size, will be more suited to the mid-size SAV, rather than the compact ones.
We don't get that model of Nissan here, and don't know if our version is the Rogue.
Having owned VW's, Honda's & Toyota's, I just can't put them in competition with BMW unless I was looking to save thousands of dollars and compromise the driving & ownership experience of a BMW.
