That's basically why I asked if people had done a short (20-30 mile) 65 mph, no A/C and no "fun" driving highway test. The EPA numbers are usually pretty optimistic. The reason that they have any credibility at all is that people tend to fib a tad about their excellent mileage, which is only natural. Of no course, no self-respecting BMW owner would ever do that.
