428i driven

Took a 428i Xdrive as a loaner car over the weekend. The car was fully loaded, luxury line, 18 inch rollers, navi, backup camera...real nice with 5K miles. I put another 700 miles on it with 15 hours of driving, from NYC to Cape Cod and back. Here is what I noticed how it compared to the X1 28i.
First fuel economy wise the 428i Xdrive beats my X1 with ease. The eco pro on the 428i only saves gas marginally...for the first 40miles it only gave me +2miles...on my X1 I could get +8 miles driving 40 miles on the highway. I decided to drive in only comfort and sport mode. This was how the 428i impressed me, with a 28.5mpg average for the whole trip. My last trip in a X1 averaged 24mpg with the same driving manner. The trip speed average was 45mpg, with fare amount of off highway local and country road driving.
Secound the electric stuff. The 428i's bluetooth never worked right..I used bluetooth to play music through my phone on my X1 and never had a problem, but the 428i's bluetooth never connects right. It gets stuck every 5 minutes. The graphic on the 428i's navi looks much fancier. The back up camera is really clear with full color graphics, even a night. The car has only 2 cup holders blocking the battery outlet if you have two large size cups.
Last not least, driving character. The 428i does not inspire driving confidence. The car felt floated rather than planted. Cornering is very fast on this car, but without any steering feed back I just don't know how it will react on the next twist. Driving in comfort mode, especially rolling start, the 428i feels the same as a X1 28i. But the 428i's sport mode feels like it packs a harder punch. It felt quicker taking off in sport mode, with a much more aggressive sound effect than the X1. But without any steer feed back, I feel more confident driving my X1 faster, which I could point and shoot at a corner, but know when I am nearing the limit. With the 428i, it just takes a corner super fast and smooth, but leave you wonder what just happened. If it does reach the limit, you will find out after. Braking does not feel any different than the X1. The 428i comes standard with Xenon head lights. Night visibility was no better than my X1's halogen with BMW high performance bulbs. The head lights can be switched off completely.
Last words, When I took the 428i home, both my mom and my girlfriend were impressed by its looks. My mom said the car look like a much higher class than my X1....darn it. Women just can't have enough of it lol
