Far from me to say it would be faster (which is why I asked doxy3 in the first place), but what's your basis for saying it's slower on a 35i, given that you have 28i where doing it isn't possible?
It's definitely not going to be good for the car, as you have to keep rev and brake at the same time, and drop the brake. But it certainly works, and does not
feel slower, if you time it well enough not to get an automatic downshift into first. I haven't measured it, so it might
be slower. Have you seen any measurements, since you make this claim?
