Hi all,

I have a 2013 X1 automatic and have been having an issue with what I thought were the brakes grinding when coming to a stop. This only usually happens at the last stages, maybe 5mph to 0. I also think it’s more noticeable if I’m turning the steering wheel but I’m not 100% on this.

I obviously thought it was the brakes grinding and took the car to a garage for them to be replaced to which he advised they were absolutely fine and didn’t need anything doing to them! (Very honest of him lol)

So does anyone know what the issue may be? I have a feeling it’s maybe a conflict between the automatic lagging behind (still trying to move forward whilst the car comes to a stop) but would have no idea how accurate this is as I am far from a mechanic!!
