Strange you haven't heard anything or read anything because BMW Turbo 6 Cyl are well known for that kind of behavior.

Turbo 8 cyl are also oil consumer. I think it has to do with the high compression ...

So you should start to accept it. I don't think BMW or your dealer will give you free refill even under warranty.

BMW has already stated in the past that this behavior is by desing for those engines.

By the way, Porsche, Subaru and Audi all have the same " problem " with Turbo engines.

Don't think you have any choice here but to add some oil when needed.

Curious though that the N20 engine which is also Turbo doesn't have the issue.

I have the N20 on a 28i Xdrive and never had to add oil at all ...

At least you can enjoy the performance !! A hell of an engine.
