Now, I am ready to bet that if I leave my X1 on the front of the house in the winter I can kiss goodbye the start, I will probably get stuck too, since my reliable car is inside in front of it...
You should not leave the trickle charger ON. The charger should be disconnected after the battery is charged. I think is written even on the Trickle charger.
Not to mention, it is not wise to leave any electrical devices plugged when you are away.
