Ah that makes sense. On my Lexus IS250, in that event, one is supposed to pry the push button cover off and use the "valet key" that pulls out of the fob to start the car. I never have had a reason to do that, however.

I suppose this is covered in the X1 manual but I don't recall reading that. And I got a really rushed demo when I picked up my X1...


That sucks you got a rushed demo. I think the sales guys get paid for the demo.
