The first view is from the top (skew is visible for the cap)
The second view is from the side where you can see the cap on the left and the other end is open. If you were a plumber could set another PVC pipe into the large open end.
Notice the PVC pipe is an end part so the cap can fit on it.
PS The wrap is for aesthetics

Cool solution! looks more like 3" diameter pipe no? what did you wrap it with? I might spray paint the pipe instead.
