You always gain camber that's not what I'm talking about, but your overall track width expands. (overall the wheels stick out farther)
Blue gains camber.
Angle between blue and purple does not change.
Purple compresses, red is the same length between the two.
This happens on any McPherson strut design where the a-arm is not perpendicular to the ground at it's "normal" resting state.
