For what it's worth ...

You're looking at the results of two long trips. As you can see from the average speed, it was virtually all highway driving with minimal stop and go at each end. I stopped calculating manually long ago, although in the past I found the accuracy of the computer to vary with the computer's indicated mpg always inflated.

So if you're wondering, yes - I continue to be disappointed by the X1's fuel economy. A could achieve close to these numbers in my Subaru, with 25% more displacement and half the gear ratios. Factor in the higher cost of premium, and I'm actually paying more for gas. For the record, the EPA ratings on the Subaru (2009 model) were 20/26.
