It's pretty much the same gearbox, isn't it?
Yeah, flipping between 3rd and 4th is where I'm at most of the time too. 5th for long stretches, but 6th is only for cruising, and 2nd is too far down to be of much use.
I'm sure the N20/ZF8 has more use of the low gears than the old six - hopefully they shortened the intervals and didn't just tack on the top gears as extra overdrives to save fuel.
