Photo #6 and you are spot on.
I believe the next X1 will be similar (Look at the rear especially) to the Mercedes GLA and MINI Countryman. The chopped off rear gives a little more interior space.
Also, I believe the 3 or 4 cylinder engine is in the future for all the X1 series
