We have been discussing both 28i and 35i tunes in this thread.
After checking Terry's posts, you are correct in regards to the N55 stage 1 tunes triggering codes and the CAN tool or BT scanner is recommended. Stage 2 includes code clearing.
The N20/N26 Stage 1 does not trigger codes. Stage 2 is still under development so full details are not yet available.
Sorry for the confusion as I was incorrect regarding the N55. Paradoxical3 had it right.
