Yeah, the Audi S8 only has 481 lb/ft of torque and the BMW M550d has 546 lb/ft of torque and both use the 70Z version of the ZF 8s. That is weak, I'm sure they'll default to the old 6s.
Just to confirm, both the existing F30 330d and the F10 535d already use the 70Z version in place of the 45Z too.
BMW used the 6s on our 35i cars because they had an inventory of them they needed to burn off. It's bad for fleet mileage though, so if they either start selling lots of 35i's or run out of 6s transmissions, they'll toss in the 45Z for our car too. But I'd bet they have a pretty good idea of how to make their existing supply meet demand just about perfectly.
