I saw the X1 next to a new X3 and an X5 at the Montréal Auto Show last weekend and I prefer the new X3 to the X1. The X1 appears to be about four inches lower than the new X3. There was no E91 for size comparison.
The interior of the X1 looked a bit ordinary (not necessarily cheap) compared to the new X3 and the X5.
