For those that love the 3.0 NA if it's so great why did they already drop it on the X5 this year. No torque! I'll take the 2.0 turbo but the X3 3.0 turbo pushes the price price way out of wack for about 50% of the potential market.
I could be wrong but I thought I priced out a fully loaded 28i and a 35i in the US and the price difference was about $2,000-$2,500, thats it! which is what it should be, the cost of the i6 turbo isn't that much more than a i4 turbo, its not like we are talking about a $10K M engine upgrade.

its really going to come down to performance vs fuel consumption. With the current engines in the X3 its a no brainer to go with the 3.0 turbo, but once the new 2.0 turbo comes out that will change, and when the X1 2.0 turbo comes out that will be a hard decision because its just a tiny bit slower than an X3 3.0 turbo but will get much better MPG and probably be $5K+ cheaper fully loaded. In the US the X1 will kill some sales of the X3 but BMW feels they need to bring it here because of the competition, Infiniti EX, Porsche's new Cajun (which will be smaller than a X3).
