The exhausts of the 135i and x1 35i look 99% the same, but nobody has tried fitting one yet.

The 335 and X1 35i brakes are identical, so all BBK fits should theoretically fit on the X1.

You're likely losing of sales on parts that already fit just because nobody has done compatibility testing yet. IF you can find an X1 and confirm fitment on these already existing parts, you already likely have a lot of them in stock.

And of course, the other part of it is that once more people become aware of the performance potential of the X1, it will drive some enthusiast sales - which will in turn drive parts sales. Not many people realize the X1 is relatively easy to get into the 12's.
I hear what you are saying, and I agree that some parts will definitely be interchangeable.

However

We have to be careful selling parts designed for a 135i for example, to a customer with an X1 35i. Aftermarket part warranties may not cover the part if installed in a vehicle that it is not tested for. Also, you have to take into account that for Big Brake kits, while the fitment may be the same, the braking bias/balance may not be.

Its not going to be too long before companies realize the potential of the X1 and start pushing parts for it. We just like to make sure our customers are covered and would rather be a little slower than to risk someones baby!
