They do,but not with this particular range. Here in the UK they are a good school run car and mothers are not likely to give another X1 owner the thumbs up, partly as many don't even know what they're driving anyway
. In the UK, with new-ish cars at least, it's not often you'll get a wave from other same car drivers unless the car is something special.
I've owned Z4's and M3's in the past(old M3's) and often got a wave or flash or thumbs up and even others walking up for a quick chat while refuelling.
Was collecting my groceries last week and the guy at the store said "oh, that's a nice looking car" - first comment I have had on the X1 since owning it (since august 2012)
