Why would the X1 compete with RDX? Obviously the people at Consumer Reports don't have a clue about branding especially premium brands. BMW is the leading premium brand and most profitable and will price themselfs at the top of the pyramid. BMW sets its pricing around profit margin and its main competitors Audi and Mercedes. Additionally if you have a family of 5 or two large kids you would never consider the X1 because of size. Their review basically said you can get a bigger vehicle for the same price as an X1 ( dah ). People buying the X1 are buying it because its smaller dumbasses (Consumer Reports) and because its the lowest priced BMW and handles like a sedan.
