First road trip with new X1 M sport, from Iowa to Arizona... about 1500 miles and averaged between 27-30 mpg which I thought was good for a car with 300 miles on it to start the trip.
Comfortable and quiet but do need to keep the R's up when passing on 2 lane roads. Shift paddles help... passed 2 trucks on 2 lane in western KS and when pulling back in the V1 went ballistic- of course, way over the limit and watched the Charger put on its tailights as he went by. After his flip, the two trucks I just passed let him right by- I was already pulling off onto a side road as he pulled up behind. Actually very nice and after exchanging pleasantries, he actually gave me a warning for 78 in a 65! (had been going a bit faster when I hit the brakes!!) And out of state plates!!
Lucky then but then hit a big storm with hellascious rain and hail- thought the windshield was going to break. Nothing to hide under out in the middle of nowhere! Stopped after it quit and saw no damage thankfully... must be strong metal!!
Now it needs a good bath- parked next to its sibling, a Q5 diesel...
