I would say the USA market is a wee bit behind wrt efficiency. And its not just me saying that. Its well documented in the media that the American manufacturers are playing catch up with their engines. There was a flurry of activity after the initial financial bailouts but lately it seems they have dropped their eyes of the ball again.
Things will change though. The price of oil is heading only one way.
