I recommend X1 if you prioritize performance and handling over luxury. It drives really well for an SUV and performance is close to a 3 series.
If you are looking for a luxury car in terms of ride comfort, interior quality, cabin noise and roominess I recommend Acura RDX or Volvo XC60 or something similar for the same money as a loaded X1.
Also if you are ok with a stripper car again I recommend X1 with minimum options for its performance to price ratio.
In terms of options I recommend heated seats or cold weather package, lighting package (which I don't have and regret it every night), technology package, ultimate package in that order. Also if you are patient order the car to get the paddle shifters.
