I inspected the rear seal/mating surfaces during lunch and couldn't find any damage. I ran the car in the parking lot with A/C and fan off, fan on, and A/C on for about 10 mins each. By the end I could smell faint traces of exhaust.
The stuck open vents sounds reasonable. I remember sometimes the doors opening with the same vacuum resistance as a fridge door. I figured the air contracted and sucked the doors in on cooler days. This hasn't happened in a while even on colder days, which is in line with a vent stuck open and equalizing the pressure.
