The LS7 is better suited to track duties IMO just as long as a valve doesn't drop. Very, very few LS7s are having this issue anymore but I have read that a 1 Z/28 had it happen while running around the road course.

You forgot to mention that the LS7 has far more mod potential and is easier to mod, work on, FAR larger aftermarket and much cheaper to mod and repair.
