Wear on both edges means really low air pressure, but i don't think you've explained what you see.
Just get a tread depth gauge and measure all tires to see if alignment is ok, and measure tire pressure.
Rotation is nearly always last resort tire saving measure and can rarely be done anymore.
My X1 s28i M Sport wears the fronts more on the inside and the rears more on the outside.
Also, the fronts are about 9/32nds, and the rears about 7/32nds at 6000 miles on staggered 18 inch wheels.
