Okay, mine worked repeatedly last evening without 5 windshield washer cycles in between. Must be some other logic that they're following.
Winters here are sloppy (somewhere I've a pic of a long-ago Scirocco with the headlights totally opaque from road splash...), so I've been looking forward to the washers. We'll see how it works out.
