Only 2500 miles on the ticker... but this is the first car in many years that I look forward to driving! I've owned mostly highly reliable and horribly practical Japanese vehicles for the better part of my adult life. The X1 gives me:

- Sports car behavior when I want a sports car.
- Economy car when I'm in my 'let's monitor the MPG' mood (30s highway)
- Utility to support my cycling habit (hate putting a 5000 dollar road bike on the roof)
- Reliability, hopefully, at least thru the 4/50 time period.
- Ride height. My back gives me issues in cars where I sit with legs straight out. The extra few inches solves this.
- Great date night car with my wife.
- "BMW" look, feel, smell, build, etc.

Ask me again when I get the urge to upgrade.... but for now, Yes. It's the only car that fits the bill. The Q3 may be a contender when it hits the US. And I'm not so sure about the new FWD platform coming. I bought BMW because it's a BMW - not a diluted brand. But that's a different thread...

A satisfied (for now!) 52 year old car enthusiast,
Tom
