In Canada at least, the free "scheduled maintenance" is computer mileage based, or once per year, whichever is the shorter time frame. I literally just re-confirmed this with the dealer at the weekend as I was booking the wife's car in for service and she's sitting at about 9,000km after a year.....it's still classed as scheduled maintenance for her.
