Timing chain recalls ?
So one day my mechanic noted that the timing chain is noisy. A few months later I got a CEL with P0015 (Camshaft Position “B” - Timing Over-Retarded) iirc. The mechanic said the chain is likely stretched. Took it to another mechanic, he basically confirmed - "could be a timing chain, or an oil pump, or both". Expensive.
One of them also mentioned that he thinks that BMW USA issued a recall, and I can try contacting BMW Canada to see if they can do anything. I can't seem to find anything related to N20 timing chain issues in recalls. Can anyone confirm if the recall exists?
The car is 2012 X1 28i with 120k km on it.
