I was neither misguided or misleading TYVM - the US is getting the same choice we do between sDrive and xDrive. I observed that I personally don't see the point of sDrive in a X-series. Others have explained why they think I could change my view, however ultimately it was and remains my opinion. My observation that people have not been universally happy with their sDrives also remains valid - you are correct though that reference to the diesel models is irrelevant as it seems BMW USA doesn't do diesel.

As a small OT aside about misleading/misguided - Guernsey is not actually in the UK. It's a crown dependency, part of Great Britian but not part of the UK.
It may sound the same, however it's not. We have our own laws, taxes etc that are not the same as the UK.

For me, it meant no VAT (sales tax) when I purchased my X1
