It's not a bad odor, definitely exhaust. It goes away if run the vent fan at half speed or above so I'm guessing it's not coming from the vents. I figured a missing plug in the firewall or cabin or as 0w40x1 suggested, a leaky hatch seal. I wonder if the CO detector in my house is sensitive enough to pick it up.
