Agree or not, I am speaking from personal experience. My parent's have a 328i with variable sport steering and dynamic dampers and it does not drive the same as a base 328i without these options (which I have had as loaners).
X1 sDrive vs xDrives don't drive the same and then there are the servotronic and performance control options which also affect driving dynamics.
The X1 gave us the best bang for our buck and the utility we needed.
