Just wanted to know what is classed as a short journey in a diesel as I know short journeys are classed as.

I do quite a bit of driving on 'A roads' as we call them here in the UK which are 50MPH roads but not very long distance by any means. My work is around 9 miles away and that's pretty much all a roads.

I do go to car shows at weekends etc which tend to be a couple hours away. So the car does get some long distance driving and some short a road journeys etc.

Just trying to figure out for future DPF issues
Living in a Country Town my circumstances are similar to yours and believe that this would suit a Diesel.
City 60Kph with exception around School Area 40 to 50. Out of City 80Kph, which I get to on the way to work.
H/Way and F/Way 100 to 110Kph. Use when Service due and visiting Son.
Am fortunate here to have good Fuel Regulations. I only use Premium Diesel which has additives and should clean/protect engine better.
How's your fuel quality there and are you using Premium?

I might be moving to the Big City and keeping the Diesel so on the W/ends would be hitting the H/Way, F/Way just to blow the cobwebs out occasionally.
