They planned this car ~4 years ago when they thought a baby SUV would be just the thing for big-ol, home equity leveraged Americans (instead of the 1 series hatches). Now they're trying to make lemonade from a lemon.

I have no clue why C&D calls this a "First Drive" review when it just seems like a press release and there's no mention at all on how it actually drives. It will be interesting to see how this fits into the market in terms of features, size and price.
