So far under warranty, I've had to have my X1's gas tank, fuel lines, and handbrake assemblies completely replaced. There were also a few smaller repairs done as well. It was all done free of charge under the 4yr/50k mile warranty, but it would have cost a few thousand dollars.

Since I bought (not leased) the car, and based on how much I drive, ~18k miles per year, I'll hit 50k miles way before 4 years is up, so I also purchased an extended 6yr/100k mile warranty. While I hope it's unnecessary, I have the suspicion it might be wise.

Outside of warranty, I've had some minor bodywork done for dings and scratches, but remember that a BMW's (or any luxury car's) parts and labor will often cost more than a non-luxury marque. For instance, repairing the front bumper on the X1 cost $1200, while my mom's Camry (with similar damage) cost about $500, labor included. I've also had basic things like wheel alignments and tire rotations performed, which cost $200 at the BMW dealership but which I get done at my local specialist for about $100. In the future, oil changes should cost ~$80 every 10k miles, and there are other "recommended" services that can cost hundreds, but you just have to be savvy enough to not cave to your dealer's sweet talking (a few quick Google searches will help you out there).

If you have any detailed questions about the repairs (I keep all my invoices/service authorizations as is wise) or about the extended warranty programs (I have that paperwork and the brochures too), feel free to PM me.
