Is that a sport seat you got there? A sport seat will give you a better lateral support so you won't be rolling around in you seat in the future.

For now, maybe adjusting your seating position will prevent rubber on that section in the future.

That could have something to do with the problem, it's a standard seat but with the optional lumbar support adjustment. It may be that it's concentrating most of the load over a small section of the backrest thereby increasing the wear. I'll reduce the amount of lumbar support and see if helps.
